Viper vs Road -Darek
"So this weekend I was to attend my best friend's father's funeral, for my entire life he's been in avid motorcyclist. My best friend's mother asked me if I would ride his bike to his funeral. I of course said yes. He had always kept his motorcycles, pristine and always with the most quality parts so maintenance wasn't really a worry of mine.
What I didn't take into account is that this bike had been stored inside for 2 years. Check the battery. Check the tires went on about my way. After just getting off of the interstate 4 MI later the front brake completely seizes up at 55 mph causing the to the right. And in the blink of an eye I was on the ground and sliding across the asphalt. And sliding across the asphalt under the bike. Luckily for me he had crash bars and I had on my carbon fiber Daytona Viper that I had just bought, Blue jeans, And my cut.
My hip is a little thrashed, my ribs back and elbow hurt like hell, but I walked away from that with very minimal injury. Had it not been for my Daytona helmet I would have absolutely lost my life. And at 60 mph slamming to the pavement the only thing that broke was the rear splitter and the piece that holds the visor in place. These are absolutely top notch quality and I will never ride without a Daytona helmet again.
