Retro vs Car -Brett

I am writing to thank you for helping to save my life. On August 5th, 2024 I decided to take a short motorcycle ride to the gym. I put on jeans, sturdy shoes, riding gloves, and a backpack that had armor padding on the back. Most importantly though, I strapped on my gloss black and chrome Daytona Retro full face helmet. I've worn it on every ride. 

While riding with the slow flow of traffic near my home, a car diver pulled out of a stop sign intersection on my right. Not only did they not yield right of way, or even break, but accelerated into me. They were not looking at all, and I was in full view in front of their car. I was struck hard broadside. The bumper of the car smashed my right foot causing multiple compound fractures. I was sent flying, tumbled, and smashed into the road a couple times before ending up across the street. 

I was able to take off the helmet when EMT's were en route, and realized I had no head or neck injury to speak of. Thorough scans and x-rays at the trauma hospital confirmed it. Another man, a few doors down from my hospital room, had wrecked on his motorcycle without wearing a helmet. He could not breath on his own due to head injury. He lives, but has to finish his recovery in a convalescent hospital.

I bought the helmet because it perfectly complimented the modern/ retro design of my bike, had a great price, and favorable reviews. Because of that purchase, and the decision to wear it every time I rode, no matter how short the ride, I can continue enjoying life, and take care of my family.
